My Book Review of ‘Blood on Blood’

Hi, Debbi Mack here, and I’m going to do a short YouTube book review of Blood on Blood by Frank Zafiro and Jim Wilsky.

“Dark and nasty good,” says Brad Parks. I’d say that about sums it up. 

The story is about two brothers, and they’re very interesting relationship with each other and their father. And there’s a woman, but I won’t go into detail about it, because I don’t like spoilers.

Let’s just say that this book was written collaboratively with each author taking on each of the characters, and even so it comes together so beautifully, as if one person wrote it. But the humor, as well as the the dark, gritty tone of this book and the writing is superb. All of it is fantastic, and I think that Frank Zafiro and Jim Wilsky are two authors who should get more attention than they do.

And I have followed Frank Zafiro’s career for several years now, since I started self-publishing in 2009, actually. And the more he writes, the better he gets, and that’s as it should be. So if you’re interested at all — and Jim Wilsky — I’ve read another piece that he wrote, and it’s just fabulous. So I can’t recommend these guys highly enough.

 

Frank was on my program the Crime Cafe podcast, which you can find on iTunes and Stitcher. And Jim is going to be making an appearance, also. So I’m looking forward to that very much. And this book Blood on Blood is absolutely fantastic, and I highly recommend it. So put that on your reading list. Thanks, and I’ll talk to you later.
