Hi. Today I’m going to just talk about how I’m turning my finances around, and I’m going to try to address this subject every now and then keep myself accountable to the extent that’s possible. In any rate I actually turned a profit the first month of this year for the first time in I can’t even remember how long. It’s been a while. Anyway I actually managed to make as of February 4th, $111.56, and that’s net income. That’s after expenses.
So imagine my thrill when I looked at my email today and saw, “Congrats, Debbi. Guess what? You earned royalties in December, 2022.” I did? $0.59 cents to be exact. “You’re doing GREAT.” That’s in all caps, by the way. “To track the payment status …” Yeah. Okay. Yeah, I can just, wow. All I can say is this I think is the first time I’ve been paid by this particular platform, so I must be doing great, huh?
59 cents. Fucking-A man. Alright, so the money is just rolling in and hopefully I can make some changes and maybe do an actual pivot and actually make a little bit of money. I don’t ask for much. It would be nice just to have a profit. Thank you, and I will talk to you later.
I must add that I did pay some bills this weekend and still ended up with a profit, a much smaller profit, but still a profit. Oh, and it’s thrilling to know that one of my favorite productivity experts wants to have free books. So he’s an Amazon affiliate, and guess what? Amazon doesn’t give him money for being an affiliate. It gives him Amazon credit, which means he gets to buy more Amazon books for free.
Wow. Okay. No comment, period. But you know what? If you have your own bookstore, you can probably set yourself up as an affiliate and do the same kind of thing. Wouldn’t that make more sense? I think so. Anyway, that’s all I have to say and I will talk to you later.
PS: Among other things that have helped has been teaching mystery writing for beginners on Udemy. Check it out!
PPS: I should check out that whole affiliate business I mentioned (in passing), huh? 🙂
