Hi. Yes. I just got back actually from an internet-free week (other than using Google Maps to get around) in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Want the proof? Look what I’ve got.

I love getting the local paper whenever I go somewhere. I mean, I just like looking at a real newspaper, which unfortunately we no longer subscribe to a real newspaper in terms of real this way. But I do think that this newspaper is much better than the Washington Post in its own way, because they actually cover local news. And the big local story, it seems, is selling New Mexico on Jupiter. And that does not refer to the planet, by the way. “Backers of Doña Ana data center project undertake statewide public relations push amid growing opposition.” Basically, these people, this company wants to set up a data center, a great big data center somewhere in the Santa Fe area in New Mexico.
I cannot think of a dumber move. Data centers rely on a lot of water. And if you’ve ever been to Santa Fe, or if you haven’t, understand Santa Fe is very dry, very, very dry in an already dry section of the country. The Southwest is grappling, has grappled for years, decades with a water problem. This is not news. This is common knowledge, but you’re going to put a data center in the middle of this freaking desert? Where’s the water going to come from? Oh boy. When you ask that question, all I can think of is Chinatown.
I wonder where they’re going to steal the water from this time. I don’t know. Well, I got to say, I really like this little paper. It’s so much better than the Washington Post. It has comics, comics look, comics, many of which I like a lot. Great comics. And yeah, there’s some actually really wonderful articles in here. I could flip through this paper and read them to you, but my hands are just crap. Anyway, well, one of them is crap. But yeah, you don’t want to hear all that rustling and stuff. So anyway, hooray for local newspapers. I’m just so glad this paper exists still. Stay in business, guys. I love it. I love going places and picking up the local paper just to be somewhere different, just to kind of be part of wherever you’re at at that time. I don’t know, that’s kind of the way I’ve lived my life when you come right down to it.
Okay. Take care and be seeing you.

Um … don’t you love the way this all connects back to Trump? 🙂
We’ll overlook who actually benefits from these grand plans, eh? 🙂
PPS: Here’s one for you. When is a local issue not just a local issue? Hmm? Any thoughts on that one?
How about when it effects the environment? You know, the air we breath, the water we drink, etc., etc.? Things we need to survive and thrive on this planet.
You want more data centers? How about we build one in your backyard? Hmm?
How about that all you billionaires? Want a data center in your back yard? 🙂 Yeah. Ha ha.
PPPS: I’m sure there’s a crime fiction novel in here somewhere. 🙂
