Ever since our fantastic trip to Italy, we’ve been hard-core espresso fans. So, rather than visit a coffee shop every day, we make espresso at home.
We started off with a manual espresso maker, which required physically packing the puck with ground coffee. Now, I can probably manage to do this, but having dystonia makes it hard to grasp things with my left hand. So, it was kind of relief to me easier for both of us when we upgraded to the Saeco Aroma machine.
We start off every morning with cappuccino. In the afternoon, we have double shots of espresso. Actually, I have a double shot of espresso and more espresso with Half-N-Half. We call it the White Russian espresso (or the Caucasian–if you’re familiar with The Big Lebowski).

It’s a delicious drink! Here’s how to make it.
Caucasian Espresso
Heat cappuccino mug in microwave.
Fill about one-third with Half-N-Half.
Heat again for about 20 seconds in microwave.
Make espresso directly into the warm Half-N-Half.
Add sugar to taste. Stir and enjoy!
The result will look like this!

We’ve actually invested in an even easier type of espresso machine: the Saeco Royal One Touch Cappuccino Automatic Espresso Machine!
