Hey. Yeah, I don’t really have a review today, so what I should do probably is give you an update on what’s going on with the film project I was working on. The short film. Yeah. Production was shut down back in July on July 8th. We were supposed to film it all in one day. Unfortunately, production had to shut down. So we have now rescheduled for September 11th. So that’s what’s going on, and I have to start thinking about that again. I’ve thinking about the shot list and preparing the actors. Maybe at some point we all have to sit down and I just have to kind of run through those lines again with them. I don’t know. We, we’ll see what happens, how it happens. Probably the day of we will get together and talk about the process. That’s one of the things about doing these things for the first time.
I mean, I’m getting lots of help and advice, but there are a lot of things I have to just kind of keep thinking about that I don’t normally think about. So it’s a good habit to get into though. Try new things to develop your skill sets in ways that will help you and that you find fulfilling. Anyhow, I find this very fulfilling, and in the meantime, one of the other joys of being a screenwriter is that you get to read these. This is part of a screenplay I’m reading. It’s the last 90 pages of the screenplay for 12 Angry Men, and it’s much longer than I would’ve expected a screenplay to be.
I think there are, I want to say that there are reasons for that other than odd pagination, but to be honest, I don’t think so. I think it’s just very, very long for some reason. Probably, I think it might be based on a play. I feel kind of stupid. I think it is based on a play. Certainly reads like a play. Certainly looks like a play. It takes place pretty much in one room, but it’s an interesting script to study for how to create conflict in a situation like this and sustain it. Anyhow, some things I can talk about, maybe screenplay structure. I’m supposed to talk, that’s another thing I’m doing. On September 19th, I think. I’m sorry, I keep forgetting dates. Yep. September 19th.

That will be the first day of the Creatures Crimes and Creativity Conference, C3 at the same hotel as last year in Columbia. I think it’s a Hilton. She said uncertainly. I never go anywhere. Yeah. Okay. So yeah, I’ll be there. I’ll be talking about screenwriting actually. I’ll be on a panel about screenwriting, Screenwriting Basics, I think it’s called. I’ll also be signing my books, none of which are about screenwriting. Just normal, my usual fiction type books, mysteries, and I think one thriller. Yeah, so that’s it then. I’ll be there from, I’ll be there on the 19th. Oh, I’m doing Noir at the Bar. I have a short thing. It fits the word count, which is miraculous. I didn’t have anything last time. I just really just came up with something that was not particularly good. But this, I’ve actually worked on something. I’ve worked on it, actually ran one of them by a writer’s group and got some comments, and the other one is just something I put together kind of on the fly whenever I thought about it, and it was just fun to write. So anyway, it meets the word count requirements pretty much, and it’s not too long, which for me is basically miraculous. I’m getting good at writing short, better, which is, I was always good at it. So to write even shorter is pretty amazing. Anyway, that’s it, and talk to you later. See you.
