Learning how to make a video started for me with non-copyrighted footage. I hadn’t even reached the point where I had the guts nerve confidence to simply point and shoot a simple video on my iPhone.
As a writer trying to learn about video, I started off slow. Among other things, I used the intro to an old TV series and added (what I hoped were) funny captions to it.
The result was this:

Since I made this video, I’ve gotten up the courage to make original ones. I’ve been doing the Vimeo Weekend Challenge, whenever I can and the opportunity comes up. More on that later! 🙂
The secret to learning how to make videos is to start small and don’t be afraid to experiment.
