This is a video I made yesterday, which is when I usually make videos. Anyhow, it’s about my continuing battle with clutter and piles of old books attempts to organize my office and save my heirs a shit ton of work when I’m no longer around.
Hi. Yeah. It’s been a long time since I’ve actually talked about what I’m doing. Okay. What am I doing these days? I just finished work on the third Erica Jensen mystery, which I hope will come out on May, whenever Memorial Day is. Don’t even know. Yeah, end of May, sometime around then. Around Memorial Day. And what else am I doing? Oh yeah, I’m trying to get a production meeting together for the second film that I’m going to be directing because as you may know, those of you who might actually pay attention to what I’m saying or read what I write, I do screenwriting now and have been doing that for quite a while, it feels like. Actually, it feels like a short time, but it’s been quite a while actually. I shudder to think of how much time has passed while I’ve been doing this because I got to tell you, screenwriting is no easy path to take and has become even less easy with the passage of time and the contraction of the industry.
Everyone talks about the writer’s journey. But what about the mission? Why do you want to write?
Well, after being forced to listen to a wehinar that I actually benefited from, I wrote this mission statement. So, here it is then.
Hey, I don’t have a book review or much of an update except to say that I am in the midst of pre-production on a short film. And, just thinking aloud here, I had been having some thoughts about Facebook, things I’ve seen on Facebook, people who write long tirades about the political situation, various political situations. Anyway, I’m not into that, but I have to say that there are probably a few things that bear our attention, and I think it’s good that people care. However, I was also thinking, rather than write a long tirade on Facebook, why not write an op-ed for a newspaper?
